O filme conta a história de Ryder (Logan Miller), um jovem da Califórnia que vai para o Nebraska em uma reunião de família. Ele pensa em assumir sua homossexualidade para todos, mas, para poupar sua mãe dos parentes, ele mantém a calma. Apesar de parecer estranho para todo mundo, Ryder é seguido por todos os lugares por sua prima Molly, de 9 anos. Quando os dois saem e a garota parece ter sido atacada, o jovem é acusado pela família, mas acaba descobrindo um grande segredo.
