Os criminosos Joe e Terry fogem da prisão e começam a promover assaltos a bancos para financiar um sonho. E, para realizar esses roubos, eles agem de maneira inusitada: sequestram o gerente do banco na noite anterior e, na manhã seguinte, acompanham-no até o estabelecimento para pegar o dinheiro. Durante um assalto, Joe e Terry conhecem Kate, que quer fugir com eles para escapar de sua vida monótona. Mas a situação se complica quando a polícia acredita que Kate seja uma vítima dos dois.
