Documentário sobre a expedição Shackleton à Antártica. Uma recontagem da malfadada expedição de Sir Ernest Shackleton à Antártica e da tripulação de seu navio 'The Endurance', que ficou preso nos blocos de gelo e no oceano aberto e gelado da Antártica em 1914. Shackleton decidiu, com muitos de seus tripulantes feridos e fraco pela exposição e fome, para reunir uma equipe de seus homens mais aptos e tentar encontrar ajuda. Partindo em condições terríveis com equipamento inadequado, eles suportaram todas as condições meteorológicas e terrenos e finalmente alcançaram a segurança. Convencendo uma equipe local de sua confiança de que a equipe abandonada ainda estaria viva, ele partiu novamente para encontrá-los. Depois de quase 2 anos presos no gelo, todos os membros da tripulação foram finalmente resgatados.
