É fim de temporada na pequena cidade no litoral dos EUA. O parque de diversões vai fechar, deixando o jovem Pierre Walker (Jordan Frieda) mais uma vez sem emprego. Nada que o abale, pois Pierre está acostumado com a vida de andarilho, perambulando de cidade em cidade em busca de pequenos trabalhos. Desta vez, porém, a bela e sensual Kelly (Dominique Swain) está disposta a fazer de tudo para que o rapaz não vá embora. Ela apresenta Pierre a Simeon (David Murray), um homem estranho que lhe consegue emprego de vigia. Porém, logo no seu primeiro trabalho, Pierre arromba o Harry's Bar, um conhecido ponto de encontro da cidadezinha. Harry (Dennis Hopper), o dono do bar, ao invés de entregar o rapaz à polícia acaba simpatizando com ele, e decide lhe ensinar tudo sobre a 'arte' que mais domina: roubar.
