O arquiteto Marco Antônio está vivendo um momento de crise amorosa com a fotógrafa Bia, uma jovem de temperamento instável. Ele é informado por sua ex-mulher que a filha do casal, uma menina de quinze anos, desapareceu após ter ido a uma festinha. Com isso, contrata os serviços do policial Oliveira que reconhece Marco Antônio, pois o policial o perseguiu quando o arquiteto era um estudante engajado. Assim, a procura pela filha, traz lembranças do passado de Marco: sua militância e seu grande amor, Paula.
