O tímido Holland, um quase aposentado, sonha em ser rico e viver a boa vida. Fielmente, por 20 anos, ele tem trabalhado como um agente de transferência bancária para a entrega de barras de ouro. Um dia ele se torna amigo de Pendlebury, fabricante de souvenirs. Holland observa que, com o equipamento de fundição de Pendlebury, pode-se fundir o ouro em Torres Eiffel como um brinquedo de aparência inofensiva e contrabandear o ouro da Inglaterra para a França. Em seguida os dois contam uma história para conseguir a ajuda dos criminosos profissional Lackery e Shorty (Baixinho). Juntos, os quatro executam seu planos, o que os leva a inesperadas reviravoltas.
