Localizada no extremo sudeste asiático, uma cidade costeira atrai um milhão de visitantes para suas praias a cada ano. Lá mora um pescador com sua namorada, proprietária de um restaurante. Ele decide pedir a mão de sua namorada em casamento, mesmo escondendo um terrível segredo sobre a morte do seu pai. Subitamente, anúncios de ondas gigantes começam a surgir da costa do Japão, porém são ignoradas pelas autoridades. Mas o Tsunami acontece, e começa então uma luta para sobreviver a esse poderoso ataque da natureza
