Numa retrospectiva, eles relembram movimentos culturais como o Teatro Experimental do Negro, o Teatro de Arena, o cinema da Atlântida e da Vera Cruz, até chegarem a uma análise de como o mercado artístico vem reagindo ao protagonismo negro. Os cineastas Roberto Farias, Cacá Diegues, Antonio Carlos da Fontoura e Joel Zito Araújo relatam experiências divididas com os atores em obras como O Assalto ao Trem Pagador, Xica da Silva, A Rainha Diaba e Filhas do Vento.
