Quando um avião transportando vários animais faz um pouso forçado em uma ilha deserta, a única chance de escapar é converter o avião em um barco. Quando Noah Dugan concorda em levar a missionária Bernadette Lafleur e sua carga de animais para uma ilha remota, é só porque ele está fugindo de uma dupla de bookmakers. O que nenhum deles sabe é que dois dos jovens estudantes da Miss Lafleur se juntaram clandestinamente aos animais e que o rádio transistor da Srta. Lafleur interferiu nos instrumentos do avião e agora eles todos estão fora do rumo. Após um pouso forçado em uma ilha remota, Dugan, Bernadette, Bobby e Julie descobrem que não estão sozinhos. Juntamente com dois soldados japoneses que estão encalhados na ilha desde a Segunda Guerra Mundial, eles devem transformar o avião em um barco navegável se eles quiserem voltar para casa. Quando Bobby e Julie insistem que não podem deixar os animais para trás, o avião convertido realmente se torna uma segunda Arca de Noé.
