A nau capitânia 'Arco Iris', do famoso Capitão Bonança, e a Perna de Pau Pereira enfrentam-se mutuamente e afundam-se. Bonança desaparecera. Perna de Pau apodera-se de Maribel, neta do velho Bonança, de quem está apaixonado e considera sua noiva. Numa outra praia da mesma ilha, onde se encontra Perna de Pau, João, Julião e Sebastião, três marinheiros de Bonança, desembarcam decididos a salvar Maribel e o mapa do tesouro, que caíra em poder do pirata Perna de Pau. Perna de Pau encontra-se na taberna Gancho de Ouro, e mantém Maribel presa em um quarto azul reservado para netas de capitães.
