O experiente criminoso Vic (Eddie Marsan) e seu cúmplice mais jovem Danny (Martin Compston) sequestram Alice (Gemma Arterton) em uma rua suburbana. Amordaçando-a e amarrando-a a uma cama em um apartamento propositadamente à prova de som, os dois homens planejam negociar um enorme resgate com o milionário pai de Alice antes de fugir do país. Mas enquanto Vic parece confiante do sucesso de seu plano, Danny não consegue suprimir inteiramente suas dúvidas. Enquanto isso, Alice se recusa a desempenhar o papel de vítima, e torna-se rapidamente evidente que ela não vai desistir sem lutar.
