Baseado em "Unico e o Reino do Sol", que foi recentemente escrito como uma versão teatral, este filme de animação apresenta uma batalha entre o mago Kukuruku e Unico. Kukuruku constrói um castelo usando bonecos transformados em homens como peças de construção. A história gira em torno da tristeza e do terror de homens que foram transfigurados em bonecos, e de uma garota chamada Cherry que deseja recuperar a bondade de seu irmão, aluno de Kukuruku. Esta obra nos lembra que a "transformação" ou "transfiguração" - temas favoritos de Tezuka Osamu - envolve não apenas aspectos materiais, mas também o coração imaterial do homem.
