Um jovem policial heróico na selva da Tailândia tenta resgatar uma menina bonita de ser sacrificada para a "Tribo Worm". Como resultado, o policial é condenado a sete "maldições de sangue", que acontecia periodicamente. Na sétima, ele iria morrer, mas Betsy, a garota que ele salvou, faz a maldição acabar com um antídoto que dura apenas um ano, de modo a aconselhar Wisely (Chow Yun Fat) que ele volta para a Tailândia para encontrar uma cura permanente.
