As estatísticas mostram que durante sua carreira, todo engenheiro ferroviário trabalhador mata involuntariamente de 15 a 20 pessoas. Esta é uma história sobre assassinos em massa inocentes e suas vidas, em particular, do maquinista Ilija, que atropela acidentalmente várias pessoas durante o serviço na ferrovia - inclusive sua linda namorada. Um dia, Ilija vê Sima, um menino que deseja cometer suicídio na estrada de ferro, e o salva. Assim, Sima se torna seu filho adotivo.
