Numa cidade de veraneio, Wanderley, filho do caseiro da fazenda, e Deborah, filha do proprietário, vem a conhecer-se. Envergonhado, Wanderley não revela a sua verdadeira condição, embora Deborah o ame. Auxiliado por um amigo de infância, Wanderley consegue prolongar o amor com a jovem, sem que esta saiba quem ele realmente é. Quando um grupo de amigos dela chega para uma festa, percebem que Deborah gosta de Wanderley, o que provoca ciúmes em Bidu, um de seus pretendentes.
