Após o fracasso de seu casamento, T.K., uma implacável advogada de Los Angeles, se envolve amorosamente com seu cliente, Steve Seldes. Steve é um charmoso homem de negócios que está sendo acusado de financiar filmes pornográficos, realizados com menores de idade. T.K. acredita na inocência dele, que alega estar envolvido apenas por ser o proprietário do local alugado para fazer os filmes. Após descobrir que Steve é casado com uma antiga colega de faculdade, Ellie, T.K. têm uma briga violenta com o empresário e coloca um ponto final no relacionamento. No dia seguinte, Steve é encontrado morto e Ellie é a principal suspeita. T.K decide provar a inocência da amiga, mas durante o processo, segredos perturbadores começam a surgir.
