Uma jovem esposa é abandonada pelo marido no dia do casamento. Atormentada, ela o segue até sua antiga casa nos pântanos de Louisiana, onde, em meio aos lagos e à mortal vegetação rasteira, ela descobre um terrível segredo. Seu marido foi salvo da morte por um procedimento médico experimental envolvendo soro de jacarés, e agora ele começa a desenvolver efeitos colaterais horríveis. Ela enfrentará qualquer perigo para ajudá-lo, mas logo descobre que o amor pode não ser o suficiente.
