Após a queda do regime talibã no Afeganistão as mulheres podem voltar a cursar escolas. Uma delas é Noqreh (Agheleh Rezaie), que vai à escola escondida devido a desaprovação de seu pai (Abdolgani Yousefrazi). Na escola é realizado um debate entre jovens que sonham em se tornar presidente do Afeganistão, o que faz com que Noqreh passe a sonhar com a idéia. Entretanto ela precisa lidar com a dura realidade do seu país, que inclui sua cunhada Leylomah (Marzieh Amiri) e o bebê dela, que não tem o que comer.
