A jovem babá Jill Johnson é contratada pelo casal Mandrakis para cuidar de seus dois filhos pequenos. Mas o horror começa quando alguém telefona para a casa dos Mandrakis e diz, com voz tétrica: "Você já foi olhar as crianças?". Inicialmente, a baby-sitter pensar tratar-se do sr. Mandrakis, mas logo percebe que a coisa é mais grave quando o misterioso interlocutor passa a ligar diversas vezes seguidas, sempre pronunciando a misteriosa frase: "Você já foi olhar as crianças?".
