Kyle Johnson é um garoto bem popular no colégio em que estuda. Ele se dá bem com as garotas, tira boas notas e é o principal astro da equipe de basquete. Porém, ele nem desconfia que sua família guarda um segredo sobre sua origem. Ele costuma carregar um cordão com uma moeda da sorte, mas quando ele perde esse amuleto, coisas bizarras acontecem. O jovem começa a se transformar num leprechaun, um lendário duende irlandês. Para recuperar sua antiga vida e proteger sua família, Kyle terá de lutar contra outro maléfico leprechaun.
