Dezoito universitárias paulistas e uma professora resolvem fazer uma excursão ao Paraguai alugando um ônibus numa empresa, cujo diretor, Rubens, decide servir de motorista e gozar assim suas férias, junto com as moças. A viagem é interrompida por cinco criminosos, fugidos da cadeia, que confinam o grupo numa fazenda do pantanal mato-grossense, após matar os empregados. Os marginais brutalizam as jovens e algumas que tentam fugir são eliminadas. Auxiliado por dois meninos, filhos do dono da fazenda, Rubens contacta alguns amigos, pilotos do Aeroclube, através de um rádio transmissor, simulando uma fuga para distrair os marginais. E, enquanto ele luta com os bandidos, os aviões conseguem pousar e resgatar as moças sobreviventes.
