Lígia, maníaca sexual, casa-se com um fazendeiro vizinho, Ricardo; mas logo o trai com outros homens, entre eles um antigo namorado, Luiz, e também com a cunhada lésbica, Betty. Percebendo que Ricardo quer interná-la num sanatório, a fim de apossar-se de suas terras, Lígia simula um afogamento e foge para um vilarejo do interior. Atraída por um menino de 12 anos, Antônio, tenta seduzi-lo, mas o garoto morre atropelado. Lígia é, afinal, descoberta pela polícia.
