Em Má Sorte, Sara (Amelia Heinle) namora com o rebelde, Johnny (Patrick Muldoon) contra a vontade de seu pai, que é o xerife da cidade. Logo após um confronto com o seu genro, ele é morto por presidiários fugitivos e Sarah é sequestrada. Todos, inclusive, as autoridades, estão convencidos de que o jovem cometeu o assassinato e fugiu com a garota.
