Quando a jovem Alison (papel interpretado pela vencedora do Prêmio ao Jovem Artista para Melhor Performance, Chanel Marriott) descobre que está grávida do namorado irresponsável, ela decide abortar. Na clínica, enquanto espera ser chamada, depara-se com um grupo de personagens cômicos e excêntricos uma conselheira extravagante, uma típica mãe do subúrbio, uma recepcionista apática e Lecretia (interpretada por Alicia Monet Caldwell), uma garota do interior cujos pensamentos são expressos de maneira peculiar. Entre essas pessoas, Alison encontra um zelador gentil (Bruce Marchiano) com um “eterno” espanador na mão. Os dois começam a conversar, e ele logo deixa claro que não é um mero faxineiro, mas o Deus vivo manifestado que veio suplicar-lhe pela vida de seu bebê. Com o relógio marcando preciosos minutos de espera, há uma luta travada entre vida e morte. De repente, uma enfermeira aparece… Qual será a escolha de Alison?
