Franjinha monta uma máquina do tempo, mas para fazê-la funcionar, precisa juntar os quatro elementos da natureza: a água, o fogo, a terra e o ar. O laboratório de Franjinha é invadido por Cebolinha e Cascão, que fogem da Mônica, seguida por Magali. Na confusão, Sansão é atirado na direção dos meninos e bate na máquina do tempo. O choque faz os quatro elementos se perderem em épocas diferentes. O acidente causa um desastre – o tempo começa a ficar devagar na Terra. Para reverter essa situação, os quatro precisam embarcar na máquina do tempo e resgatar os elementos.
