Em 2002 Petter Baiestorf lançou o fanzine "Manifesto Canibal" com apontamentos sobre como produzir filmes de maneira independente sem nenhum recurso. Em 2004 a editora anarquista Achiamé encomendou uma ampliação do fanzine para sair no formato de livro e, assim, surgiu o livro "Manifesto Canibal" de Petter Baiestorf, Cesar Souza e intervenção de Carli Bortolanza. Em 2007, já com a tiragem esgotada, Petter Baiestorf resolveu filmar o livro no formato de um curta experimental e o que segue aqui é o resultado desta experiência iconoclasta que mata os deuses do cinema.
