Depois de discutir com o treinador do time de futebol americano da escola, Austin, o melhor jogador do time, é posto de lado e não joga mais. Desiludido, ele muda de cidade numa tentativa de retomar sua carreira e recuperar sua grande chance na vida. Só que as coisas começam mal quando ele arruma problemas com seus novos colegas – Austin é mal recebido pelas estrelas do time. Com o passar dos dias, a situação piora violentamente. Obrigado a rever o modo como encara sua própria vida, Austin conhece novos amigos, que o levam para conhecer o grupo de jovens da igreja local.
