Brighton Mills é uma pequena vila de pescadores perdida em algum canto solitário do litoral dos Estados Unidos. Tudo transcorre calmamente, como sempre, até que o único médico do lugar morre repentinamente.Seus pacientes entram em pânico: o falecido doutor parece ter levado com ele um terrível segredo que pode significar a vida ou a morte daqueles que se medicavam com ele. A filha do médico, a também doutora Sarah ( Michele Hicks) deixa sofisticada Manhattan e volta à provinciana Brighton Mills para tentar desvendar os mistérios de seu pai. Porém, quanto mais ela se aprofunda nas investigações, mais ela se envolve num mundo obscuro e inexplicável, repleto de segredos inconfessáveis.Os fantasmas do passado estão prestes a deixar as suas tumbas.
