Um meteorito, contendo os esporos de um zumbi-parasita, cai em Los Angeles e transforma os humanos em mortos-vivos quando duas gangues rivais se encontram em um armazém abandonado, palco perfeito para violência e destruição. Mas não é uma batalha por território comum que está para acontecer, pois eles têm um gosto especial por carne humana. Para impedir o avanço da horda dos zumbis, alguns dos mais perigosos gângsters da cidade precisarão se unir à polícia e colocar suas diferenças de lado para formular um plano de fuga e sobreviver ao holocausto urbano.
