Maria Helena mora em São Paulo e precisa encarar uma jornada de volta à sua terra natal, Minas Gerais, onde está sua família, que a negligenciou no passado. Em uma região rural da Rússia, Valentina, uma mulher de meia-idade, causa furor ao se relacionar com um detento pela internet. Após um incidente doméstico, a indiana Seema, que sempre se dedicou a cuidar do marido, dos filhos e dos agregados, desestabiliza a família quando anuncia que quer dar um tempo das responsabilidades da casa. Na China, a viúva Shuxian Qin planeja um jantar em família para que a filha, Xiaodan, aceite seu novo namorado.
