Em Fujiwara, onde os céus brilham e os mares brilham, Sakuta Azusagawa está em seu segundo ano do ensino médio. Seus felizes dias com sua namorada e veterana, Mai Sakurajima, são interrompidos com a aparição de sua primeira paixão, Shoko Makinohara. Por razões desconhecidas, ele encontra duas Shokos: uma no ensino médio e outra que se tornou adulta.
