Loculus, uma antiga relíquia, durante século é motivo da luta entre as forças da luz e das trevas. Desaparecido, agora o artefato sagrado resurge, e para se apossar dele, uma sociedade secreta vem provocando verdadeiras chacinas. Para revelar eu poder, as antigas artes da geometria, astrologia e alquimia têm que ser combinadas com a informática. O milionário Magnus Martel (Terence Stamp) está desesperado para encontrar e destruir a relíquia. Com a ajuda de seu filho Jake (James D'Arcy), um perito em informática, e Mira (Natasha Wightman) uma estudante de alquimia, embarca em uma perigosa missão para localizar o Loculus e revelar seu incrível segredo. Porém, Praenuntius (Udo Kier), uma demoníaca sentinela que persegue o Loculus desde a crucificação de Cristo, também está nesta caçada sem tréguas.
