Na Argentina de 2001, uma turma de amigos decide juntar dinheiro para reabrir uma cooperativa agrícola e aquecer os negócios da pequena cidade onde vivem. Mas, assim que fazem o investimento, a economia argentina entra em colapso e eles descobrem que sofreram um golpe do advogado e do gerente do banco. O grupo, então, decide montar um plano para recuperar o dinheiro. O filme é baseado no livro La Noche de la Usina, do escritor Eduardo Sacheri.
