Em algum lugar do Atlântico Norte, no final de 1945, uma balsa salva-vidas fica à deriva no mar, e nela os sobreviventes de um navio-hospital torpedeado: Sem comida, água ou abrigo, tudo parece perdido - até que uma embarcação nazista abandonada se aproxima ameaçadoramente deles, dando-lhes uma última chance de sobrevivência. Mas ao embarcar no navio, eles encontram um inimigo muito mais assustador.
