Ao voar para o funeral de seu pai na zona rural dos Apalaches, uma forte tempestade faz com que o avião que transportava Marquis (Omari Hardwick) e sua família perdesse o controle. Ele acorda ferido, sozinho e preso no sótão da Sra. Eloise (Loretta Devine), que afirma que pode cuidar dele e curá-lo com o Boogity, uma figura hudu que ela fez com o sangue e a pele dele.
