Jeca mora num casebre com a esposa e uma filha, mas não tem responsabilidades para com a família, levando sua vida descompromissadamente. O coronel descobre que o filho do Jeca namora sua filha e, furioso, expulsa Jeca do rancho. Este é informado pelo advogado, ser herdeiro de uma grande fortuna. O advogado, ganancioso, arquiteta um plano para raptar a filha do Jeca e assim exigir um alto resgate. Jeca retira o dinheiro do banco e põe numa pasta. Depois de muitas trapalhadas, a polícia consegue prender os bandidos e libertar a filha do Jeca.
