No domingo de Páscoa em uma casa de repouso, Plínio, um marceneiro aposentado, está cheio de expectativa com a visita de sua família, porém ninguém aparece para buscá-lo. Anselmo, o jardineiro da casa de repouso, ao vê-lo sozinho e cabisbaixo, oferece-se para levá-lo até sua antiga casa. Durante o trajeto, cresce a cumplicidade entre os dois, e Plínio revisita as memórias de sua vida no bairro, em São Paulo, onde nasceu e cresceu. Ao chegarem, Plínio tem uma surpresa que colocará em xeque as suas lembranças.
