João da Silva Brown, ou apenas J.S. Brown, é morador de Salvador e sempre foi fã de histórias em quadrinhos, filmes e seriados de aventuras e super-heróis. Certa vez ele fica sabendo de um curso para detetives e resolve freqüentá-lo. Com seu diploma de detetive particular, monta um escritório e coloca um anúncio no jornal. Trajando agora capa e chapéu, ele espera em vão por clientes. Um dia dois homens invadem sua sala e ele é raptado e levado até uma mulher misteriosa, Sandra Carbucci, que o contrata para localizar uma moça chamada Cris. A partir daqui J.S. Brown irá se envolver numa trama de mistério e assassinato digna das histórias que sempre apreciou.
