Vinícius de Moraes (1913-1980) em sua fase baiana, flagrado ao lado de Toquinho, Maria Creuza, Aloysio de Oliveira, a mulher Gesse e do inseparável copo de uísque, sob o disque-disque dos coqueirais de sua idílica Itapoã. Fala de suas características poéticas (o pronome da primeira pessoa vem sendo, pouco a pouco, substituído pela terceira) e assume as influências de Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Verlaine e Manuel Bandeira. O filme mostra Vinícius acompanhando-se sozinho ao violão em sambas de sua lavra, como Quando tu passas por mim.
