O filme surgiu em parceria com a ONG Vídeo nas Aldeias através da Expedição Tsonkiri (em português Beija Flor), realizada em julho e agosto de 2015 e produzido pelo cineasta Ashaninka Wewito Piyãko em parceria com a ONG Vídeo nas Aldeias. A Expedição Tsonkiri foi uma viagem preparatória para a realização da grande Expedição \'Yorenka Tasori\' (\'Sabedoria do Grande Espírito\'), prevista para 2016. Durante a Expedição Tsonkiri os líderes da APIWTXA, Benki, Moisés, Wewito e Winko Piyãko, acompanhados pela antropóloga Carolina Comandulli, viajaram durante três semanas ao Peru para visitar comunidades Ashaninka da Selva Central e sítios sagrados de grande importância para a cultura Ashaninka, a fim de fazer os primeiros contatos para a preparação da Expedição "Yorenka Tasori".
