O mês era fevereiro; o verão assolava os trópicos e o Carnaval se aproximava enquanto Martinho da Vila se preparava para subir ao palco do Canecão, no Rio de Janeiro. O show seria a base do primeiro DVD da carreira do artista (a ser lançado em setembro daquele ano), e os cuidados não foram poucos. O público que lotava a cervejaria de Botafogo tinha tanta expectativa quanto Martinho da Vila. Apesar dos 35 anos de carreira, ele, em sua roupa impecavelmente branca e na genuína ansiedade, mais parecia uma debutante esperando os primeiros acordes da orquestra que a entronizaria na sociedade naquela festiva noite. E, como num ritual, um a um os músicos foram se acomodando.
