No Museu Prentice, após assassinar uma segurança, Tim Washington (Billie Worley) rouba uma moeda cunhada por Alexandre, o Grande, de valor inestimável. Mas antes de ser preso Tim tem de deixar a moeda com um repórter, Mickey O'Malley (John C. McGinley), que investiga o caso. Vendo que também será preso, Mickey a esconde no bip de uma deficiente auditiva, Jillian Shanahan (Marlee Matlin), sua preparadora física, que não imagina que porta a moeda mais valiosa do mundo. Ela passa a ser perseguida pelo detetive Brock (Martin Sheen), que deseja a moeda para si para "complementar sua aposentadoria".
