Arlindo, o filho mais velho, formado em engenharia na capital, chega ao sitio com um corretor de imóveis e vende o sitio do pai por uma verdadeira fortuna, pois as terras possuem um imenso lençol petrolífero. A imensa fortuna e a transferência para uma enorme mansão na capital, provocam uma profunda transformação na vida da pobre família. Imaginem só este bando de caipiras, acostumados a vida pacata do interior, bem no meio da cidade grande, a capital! É confusão na certa, para deixar qualquer um bem doido, uma verdadeira festa, FESTA NO SERTÃO.
