Um dos tesouros mais valiosos e invisíveis do cinema brasileiro é o conjunto de filmes realizados sob a influência das grandes greves do ABC, no final dos anos 1970. Ainda menos conhecida é a participação feminina nesse processo, que Trabalhadoras Metalúrgicas elege, de forma pioneira, como ancoragem narrativa. Escrito e dirigido por Olga Futemma em parceria com Renato Tapajós, o filme parte da realização de um congresso de mulheres metalúrgicas e é imantado pelas vozes das trabalhadoras, que o convertem em território de expressão.
