Encontros e desencontros de Ana e Luiz e os problemas que eles enfrentam para criar sem a ajuda de marido ou mulher os filhos dos casamentos anteriores. Ana é uma escritora em busca de patrocínio para montar a sua peça de teatro 'Sexo Frágil', mãe de Nina e que conhece Luiz, um ator desempregado e pai de Kako, na casa de Cristina, onde vai morar provisoriamente. A confusão começa quando o menino Kako, para suprir a falta materna, obriga o pai a se vestir de mulher para participar da festa do Dia das Mães, no colégio. Luiz, que já tinha alguma prática em shows de travesti, onde trabalhava eventualmente para sobreviver, se transforma então em Leila, uma mulher charmosa que acaba eleita a Mãe do Ano. Depois de uma série de situações ambíguas e hilariantes, Leila conquista, involuntariamente, o amor de João, um viúvo rico e solitário.
