"Grupos de cangaceiros, chefiados pelo Capitão Silvino, seu lugar-tenente Cabo Temeroso e Corisco, percorrem diversas localidades do interior pernambucano, praticando toda sorte de atrocidades. Terminam matando o Coronel Firmino e o Delegado do Destacamento de Ceremoabe. Várias volantes perseguem os cabras, sem resultados positivos, o que causa séria apreensão na Polícia Estadual, que reúne uma tropa de 70 homens, fortemente armados, sob o comando do Major Bandeira.
