"Jerry, cantor principiante da TV, recebe de Neide a notícia de que sua madrinha, dona Linda, do orfanato onde se criara, acaba de morrer. Na pressa, Jerry falta à reunião que o elegeria à apresentador do programa 'A Grande Parada', o que provoca uma crise de nervos no diretor da estação, Indalécio, que vai procurar seu psicanalista, Dr. Karloff. Este interessado em proteger um amigo, convence Indalécio a esquecer o cantor. Pelo testamento, Jerry herda o orfanato onde fora educado e, com Neide e o professor Teobaldo, promove uma festa para alegrar os órfãos. O problema é lutar para conseguir o pôsto de apresentador e, assim, obter fundos para a instituição, que está falida."
