Os anos 60 viram o mundo de pernas pro ar, transformando todos os grupos sociais. No Brasil, a carreira de Zuzu Angel estilista começa a deslanchar, enquanto seu filho Stuart ingressa no movimento estudantil, contrário à ditadura militar então vigente. As diferenças ideológicas entre mãe e filho são profundas. Ele lutando pela revolução socialista. Ela, uma empresária. Stuart é preso, torturado e morto. Inicia-se então o périplo de Zuzu pela libertação do filho e uma vez revelada sua morte, em busca de seu corpo. Suas manifestações ecoaram no Brasil, no exterior e em sua moda. A cruzada de Zuzuz expõe as vísceras da repressão e incomoda tanto que tanto que, certa noite, em um estranho desastre de carro, ela tem o mesmo destino do filho.
