Sugimoto Taeko vai morar com sua filha Natsuki e sua neta Mizuki. Eles começam uma vida animada juntos. No meio de tudo isso, Taeko se vê em Mizuki. O gosto amargo do primeiro abacaxi que comeu, a nota desastrosa em uma prova de matemática, o despertar de seu espírito de atuação em uma apresentação escolar. Ao relembrar seus dias de escola primária, Taeko desencadeia um sonho do qual havia desistido e selado há muito tempo. 'Eu estarei no palco!' Taeko imediatamente faz um teste e se dedica a ensaiar para uma peça de Shakespeare. Mas nesse momento, o teatro onde ela iria atuar vai à falência e ela é forçada a desistir novamente do seu sonho!
