Um jogador de futebol, tentando manter seus estudos, conhece Darabont, que lhe contrata para fazer entregas além da fronteira americana. Começa transportando soro para pesquisas médicas sem saber que está cometendo uma atividade ilegal e ao tentar se desvincular, David é perseguido pela quadrilha e também pela polícia até receber, dentro de uma cabine telefônica, sua última missão: a de fazer uma entrega ao mafioso mais procurado da lista do FBI em troca da vida de sua mãe. O que David não sabia, é que esta estranha ligação iria mudar completamente o rumo de sua vida.
